We hope this finds you well and healthy and full of the Fruit of the Spirit that we have covered so far: LOVE, JOY, and PEACE! Next up: PATIENCE! (Galatians 5:22)
Patience can be difficult, amiright?? I struggle with it as a mom, wife, and friend so it can be very difficult to teach it and model it to my kids! I pray that the resources below will bless you as you talk about PATIENCE with your kiddos this week. I also pray that you are blessed with an extra dose of this fruit! We’ve been primarily at home and without many of the social distractions that we are used to in the past few months which can make for some impatient moments in our homes! As my dad used to always say “Patience is a virtue”. True, true! We all could use more of it!
A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel. Proverbs 15:18
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2
Our Bible story this week is about Joseph (Genesis 37 and 41-45). We can learn so much about PATIENCE from Joseph! Please see pages 13-14 of the attached Family Pack #13 for more story information and a coloring sheet for your kids.
I am praying PATIENCE over you this week as well as LOVE, JOY, and PEACE! Bless you as you raise your children up in the Lord’s name and in His Spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. It’s a tough job my friends, but so incredibly worth it!!
ADDITION: I am also including a few resources below to share with your children regarding the events that have rocked our country in the past few weeks. I hope they will be a great educational tool and discussion starter for you and your children. I want to thank my precious friend and sister in Christ, Teshia Randall, for helping me pull these resources together as well as encouraging me with her unconditional love and God’s Word this week. Talking as a family about what is going on around us and how we can live as examples of Jesus through it all is VITAL. I encourage you: Don’t neglect these conversations as a family. We are called to teach the ultimate love of Jesus to our children in all situations. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
