montgomery kids activities 1

Hi Montgomery Kids and Families!

Whew!  What a whirlwind this past week has been!  I hope you are WELL and hanging in there whether you are at home all day with the kids practicing “social distancing” or trying to juggle work, childcare, home-life, and the “new” normal that seems to be changing every hour.

In the midst of all the crazy and chaos, I wanted to share some activity and video resources with you, along with some thoughts of hope and a short message for you and the kids today. We as a church are praying God’s promises over you (especially our little ones) during this time and we encourage you to do the same.

Below you will find an activity book that ties into the sermon from this past week, a few websites to help you work through your children’s fears or worries, as well as some of the kids favorite songs on Youtube that we regularly sing in children’s worship (play them and worship together often during these uncertain times!)

Be on the lookout for a new email message from me every week. We want to make sure that our families are equipped to grow in their faith even though we might not be meeting together as a church.

Kids, are you worried lately?

Worry can make us think some pretty weird stuff.  Sometimes stuff that may not happen.  Worry is like carrying around a huge backpack full of rocks.  But God doesn’t want you to feel crushed by worry.  In your mind, give all your worries to God to take care of.  He can and WILL help you with your problems.   You’re not alone!  Go talk to God about your worries and then talk to our parents or someone that you trust.  (Adventure Bible Book of Devotions for Early Readers)

“’I know the plans I have for you’ declares the Lord.  ‘I want you to enjoy success.  I do not plan to harm you.  I will give you hope for the years to come.’” Jeremiah 29:11 (New Int’l Readers Version) “Do not worry about anything.  But pray and ask God for everything that you need.  And when you pray, always give thanks.”  Philippians 4:6 (Int’l Children’s Bible)

Dear God, You already know what’s on my mind even before I tell it to you.  But sometimes I forget, and I let my problems really bother me.  Then I get scared because I know I can’t fix them.  But you can take any trouble and make it right!  So I give you all my worries.  Will you please help me?  Help my heart feel calm when I get worried.  Thank you for always doing what is right.   You are a perfect God.  Teach me more about your heart through this hard time.  Thanks for your help.  In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.

We know that times like these can be overwhelming and some of our kids may be experiencing fear or anxiety about what is going on in the world around them. Below are links to some great content on helping your kiddo through some big emotions and encouraging them that they serve a Bigger God:
