Guest Speaker Schedule
On Sunday, February 26, there will be a combined adult Bible class in the auditorium at 9:30am taught by Dan Bouchelle.

Dr. Dan Bouchelle: February 26

Dan is currently the executive director for Missions Resource Network in Richardson, TX.  Prior to that, he served as the senior minister for the Central Church of Christ in Amarillo, TX.  Prior to his role at the Central Church, Dan served as pulpit minister for the Alameda Church of Christ in Norman, OK from 1994 to 2001.  He also ministered with the Northwest Church of Christ in Abilene, TX from 1988 to 1994.

Dan earned his Doctor of Ministry, Master of Divinity, and Master of Arts degrees from Abilene Christian University. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Houston in Clear Lake.

Dan serves as a member of Christian Relief Fund's Board of Trustees. He is author of When God Seems Absent: Studies in Ruth and Esther , The Gospel Unleashed, and The Gospel Unhindered.

Dan and his wife, Amy, have three children.

   
 
Joe Cope, J.D. on March 11

Joe L. “Joey” Cope received his law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 1986 and his certificate in dispute resolution from the Pepperdine University School of Law in 2002.  Joey moved to Abilene in 1986 to practice law with a banking law and commercial litigation firm.   In 1989, he was invited to join the staff of Abilene Christian University. For seven years, Joey was the executive assistant to President Royce Money. In 1998, Joey was asked to reorganize The ACU Foundation, a separate corporation owned by the university managing more than $100 million in assets and marketing charitable gift opportunities. In 2000, Joey was selected as the first director for the Center for Conflict Resolution at Abilene Christian. Joey is an associate professor and served as the initial chair of that department.  He had a central role in designing the program and developed a number of courses, including Negotiation & Mediation, Conflict Management Systems Design, and Dispute Resolution & Legal Systems. Joey is a visiting professor for the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law and the William H. Bowen Law School at the University of Arkansas – Little Rock. Joey serves as chair to the State Bar of Texas Alternative Dispute Resolution Section and is a member of the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable.  A credentialed mediator of the Texas Mediators Credentialing Association, he is also a member of the Texas Association of Mediators and the Association for Conflict Resolution. Joey served as elder for the Highland Church of Christ in Abilene, TX for 15 years.

   
 
Dr. David Fleer on March 17 & 18
DavidFleer Dr. Fleer is a professor at David Lipscomb University, College of Bible and Ministry. David's teaching focus is homiletics. Under his direction, Lipscomb University hosts the annual Conference on Preaching. For the past few years Fleer has served as advisory board chair for the Christian Scholars' Conference, which is currently hosted at Lipscomb University. From 1995 to 2007, Fleer was Professor of Religion and Communication at Rochester College, named Teacher of the Year (1996-1997) and Most Influential Professor (2003-2004) by his peers and students. He preaches and teaches in congregations in Michigan and Tennessee and across the country. During the last calendar year he preached for churches in 30 different communities and he regularly presents at conferences, seminars, and lectureships in the Churches of Christ. Fleer earned his B.A. in Education from Washington State University (1976), and M.Div. from ACU (1981), the D.Min. from Fuller Seminary (1987), an M.S. in Communication from Portland State University (1991), and the Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Washington (1995). David and Mae have been married for over 30 years and have three sons, Josh, Luke, and Nate. They are the proud grandparents of Levi David.
   
 
Dr. John York on March 17 & 18:
Dr.JohnYork Dr. York is also professor at Lipscomb's College of Bible and Ministry. John teaches preaching classes and New Testament text classes for graduates and undergraduates. He received his training from Abilene Christian University (B.A. M.A., M.Div.) and Emory University (Ph.D., 1989). Prior to joining the Lipscomb faculty, John served in full time ministry with congregations in Oregon, Texas, and Tennessee. He also taught at Columbia Christian College (now Cascade College) for seven years. He is a frequent speaker on college lecture programs and sermon seminars. John and his wife, Anne, have two sons, Matt (Lipscomb University '03) and Brad (Abilene Christian University '05). They also have two grandchildren.
   
 
Dr. Kevin Owen on March 25

Dr. Kevin Owen, Preaching Minister, College Hills Church of Christ, Lebanon, TN. Kevin Owen became preaching minister in April 2008.  Kevin and his three sons, Chase, Reid and Trey moved to Lebanon from Albuquerque, New Mexico where he served the Montgomery Church of Christ for 9 years.  While in Albuquerque, Kevin’s wife of 18 years, Cindy Terrell Owen, lost a 6-month battle with cancer.  Soon after Kevin began his new ministry in Lebanon God blessed him with a beautiful and godly helper, Jana Graves.  On November 2, 2008 with the support of many wonderful College Hills members, Kevin and Jana were married.  Kevin received his undergraduate training from Freed-Hardeman University and his Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry degrees from Harding Graduate School of Religion in Memphis, TN.  Kevin is passionate about his Lord, his family and seeing the local church grow and thrive.

   
 
Wade Hodges for the Month of April
WadeHodges

Wade gets to use both sides of his brain as a problem-solving storyteller. He lives in Austin, Texas. He's been a preacher, church-planter, and land developer. He loves to cook red meat, listen to audio books, and do CrossFit.

He's a frequent speaker for churches, groups, and non-profit organizations. He also consults with churches, leadership groups, and ministers as they navigate difficult transitions.

Randy Harris for the Month of May
RandyHarris Randall Harris teaches at ACU where he was chosen Honors Professor of the Year in 2001, Honors Mentor of the Year in 2003 and Outstanding Faculty Member of the College of Biblical Studies in 2003. Known as an expert in modern theology and ethics, Harris holds degrees from Harding University, Harding Graduate School of Religion, and Syracuse University. He is coauthor of The Second Incarnation, coeditor and contributor to Theology Matters, and has written articles for Wineskins magazine. His most recent book, Godwork: Confessions of a Standup Theologian, Leafwood Press, 2009. Randy and his two pug puppies live in Abilene, Texas.
