Advisory Board

Purpose: The Youth Ministry Advisory Board will provide guidance for the implementation of the Elder’s spiritual direction for the Youth Ministry.

Members: The board membership consists of the Youth Ministry Deacon, Youth Minister, one elected or appointed parent from each grade (6-12) in the youth program and one Shepherd.  The Shepherd and Youth Minister will be non-voting members.  Voting consists of one vote per each grade level and the Youth Deacon.  In the absence of the Youth Deacon, the Youth Minister may vote.  A quorum consists of 4 representatives of 4 grades.

Terms of Membership: Parent members will serve no less than 6 months and no more than 18 months on the board and will rotate off.  The Advisory Board will set up a rotation so that no more than two parent board members are rotating off at any given time.

Responsibilities: The Youth Ministry Advisory Board will be responsible for the following:

  1. Providing an environment for the spiritual growth of our youth.
  2. Providing a safe and secure environment for our youth.
  3. Providing fiscal oversight of the Youth Program.

In the beginning, the Youth Ministry Advisory Board will meet at least weekly until such time that all the other activities such as; Curriculum, Safety and Activities have completed their tasks.  The Board will receive all committee inputs and make final recommendations to the Shepherds.  The Youth Ministry Advisory Board will set policy to support the purpose and mission of the Youth Ministry.
