Shepherd Bios

J.L. & LORENE BRAZELL
J.L. and Lorene have been members of Montgomery since 1975. He has previously served Montgomery as a teacher, substitute preacher and deacon as well as a Shepherd. In addition to serving as a Shepherd at Montgomery , he serves as the primary fund raiser and Stateside Administrator of the Manzini Bible School in Swaziland

BRUCE & CINDY BURNHAM
Bruce and Cindy love working with the youth, and being involved in small groups. They enjoy being active, particularly in the great outdoors. He and Cindy have been married since 1983 and have two wonderful children, Luke and Lauren. Bruce currently works at the Air Force Safety Center as an injury epidemiologist; Cindy is a 7th grade science teacher at Hope Christian School.

STEPHEN & LEE CROWDER
Stephen has been a member of the Montgomery Church since 1989, having served as a Deacon for many years, and as a teacher of both children and adults. He and Lee Ann
have four children. Stephen is employed at Sandia National Laboratories.

BILL & DONNA ESTES
Bill Estes grew up with a multi-denominational background but fell in love with the Lord at Montgomery. Donna (his wife) is the love of his life, and he is very proud of his family: 3 grandchildren - Brooke and JJ Bandy and Morgan Armstrong and their parents: James and Tricia Bandy and Jason and Heather Armstrong. Bill has been a contractor at Sandia National Laboratories for 10 years. Bill loves to play basketball and golf, but fly fishing is his most favorite activity.

REUBEN & PATTI GUTIERREZ
Reuben G. Gutierrez: age 54, native of Albuquerque, NM and a member of MBCC since 1984. He has been primarily involved in youth ministry (Wilderness Trek, mission trips, mentoring) and children's ministry (shepherding groups for elementary age children). Prior to elder selection in April 2006 Reuben served as a deacon for 10 years. He has also served on various committees over the past several years including Strategic Planning Committee, Worship Minister Selection Committee, and Executive Finance Team.

JOE & LINDA PAGE
Born February 11, 1950 in Enid,OK. Baptised at 36th and Prospect Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, in 1960. Graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1974 with a B.S. Psychology. Married Deloras Ramsey March, 1970 and had three children, JoDe (35), Jennifer (31), and Charlie ( 24). Married Linda Foust January, 1991, have two step children Clint ( 33), and Carie (28) and Tracy, Linda's little brother, (whom she raised as her son after her mother passed away). Ten grandchildren, 9 boys, 1 girl. Moved to Albuquerque and the Montgomery Church in April, 1977.

HOYT & SHARON ROBERSON
Hoyt has been married to Sharon for more than twenty years, is retired from the Army, and is a licensed therapist providing Christian counseling. He is interested in the transformation of yielded lives into likenesses of our God; helping others see and live confidently and freely in Him; and helping hurting people. Hoyt is thrilled when people at first come to God, and as they continually grasp new insights and understandings of His love, grace, and mercy.

LEE & TRISHA SMITH
Lee Smith (Colonel, Ret.) hails from New Mexico. He spent almost 30 years out of the state as a U.S. Army officer, including more than 10 years in Japan. He and his wife, Tricia, own the “Adobe Garden” Bed and Breakfast. Lee has preached and taught overseas, was an elder in the Pearl Harbor Church of Christ in Hawaii in the late ‘80s, and currently serves as a Shepherd at the Montgomery Boulevard Church of Christ in Albuquerque. He recently received an M.S. in Ministry degree from Pepperdine University. Tricia and he have been married for 42 years. They have two grown children (son and daughter), both of whom are married, and 10 grandchildren – all of whom are growing up “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

DR. LEE & JEANNE THOMPSON
Lee was born and reared by a devout Christian family in Texas. His wife of over forty years, Jeanne, and he have lived in Albuquerque and worshipped at Montgomery for nearly thirty years. Lee is a Family Practioner while Jeanne is employed by Bank of America. They have one son, Scott, who is married and lives in Phoenix. Lee has served as a shepherd at Montgomery for over five years.

RON & JEAN VARNER
Ronald (Ron) Varner was born in Oklahoma but grew up in Rocky Ford and Pueblo, Colorado. He has a BA from Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma. Ron and Jean met at the Edmond Church of Christ and have been married 41 years. They have two grown sons and three grandchildren. Ron is a retired U.S. Army Major. He served as an Elder in the Purcell Church of Christ in the 80’s. The Varners moved to Albuquerque in 1994. Ron is preaching for the Pecos, NM Church of Christ as well as serving as a shepherd here at Montgomery.
